Leadership

Orlando

Orlando, Practice Manager

Career: I have worked in the veterinary field for over 17 years. I began my career as a student then got hired after finishing my externship from Pima Medical School. During my career I worked my way up from vet assistant to technician, then lead surgical technician to lead technician. I decided to take the next step in my career and applied for a Practice Manager position at American Animal Hospital.

Personal Life: Family man 100. I’ve been married to my wife for 11 happy years and I’m a dad of two beautiful children.

Fun facts about me: I have been playing drums longer than I’ve been in the veterinary field. I also became a social media “influencer” when my carnivorous plant terrariums went viral.

Hana

Hana, Lead Vet Technician

With over a year of experience in the veterinary field, I bring a passion for animals and a wealth of knowledge to my work. Beyond the confines of the office, I thrive on excitement and adventure. Whether it’s carving through snow on a snowboard, cruising on a skateboard, or exploring nature through hiking, I am always seeking new thrills. The beach holds a special place in my heart, especially when I’m accompanied by my fiancé’s Labrador Retriever. My academic journey at Cal Poly SLO culminated in a bachelor’s degree in animal science, further fueling my dedication to caring for a diverse range of creatures. From horses and lambs to cats, dogs, reptiles, and fish, I find fulfillment in nurturing and safeguarding all species under my care.

Molly

Molly, Veterinary Technician

My name is Molly Jensen. I’m from Modesto in Central Valley California. When I was younger my family had all kinds of pets and even a couple farm animals, so I’ve grown to love and care for all animals like they’re my own. My passion for animal care began at age 16 when I started volunteering and fostering kittens for my local shelter. I started working in this field 6 months ago after becoming certified in veterinary assisting. In my free time I like to sing and make music, hike, and go thrifting.

Originating from San Diego and nurtured in Poway before transitioning to Mira Mesa, I’ve traversed the landscapes of this vibrant city throughout my life. For the past seven years, I’ve immersed myself in the world of veterinary assistance, dedicating my time and skills to the well-being of animals. Beyond my professional endeavors, my passions extend to spending quality time with my dog, delving into the immersive realms of video games, and indulging my creativity through the construction of intricate Lego creations. Currently, I devote my weekdays to the dynamic environment of Mira Mesa High School, where I serve as a dedicated Teacher’s Assistant, embracing the opportunities to support students in their educational journeys while pursuing my own professional growth.

Carlie

Carlie, Veterinary Assistant
My name is Carlie Williams I am originally from North Carolina but have lived here in San Diego for a little over a year! I have always had a profound love for animals, which led me to work as an Animal Care Attendant at a local animal shelter. During my time there, I discovered my passion for the medical aspects of animal care. My experiences at the shelter allowed me to witness firsthand the impact that veterinary professionals have on animal welfare. These observations solidified my decision to pursue a career as a Veterinary Technician. I plan to further my education at Penn Foster to obtain my RVT license. In my free time I cherish spending quality time with my husband Bryson and our dog Rhino. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members at American Animal Hospital!
